Police Investigating Delegate Hurst’s Traffic Stop

(Christiansburg)- The Christiansburg Police Department is taking a deeper look into a traffic stop involving a Virginia delegate.  An officer let Montgomery Democrat Chris Hurst off the hook last weekend after he allegedly blew over the legal blood alcohol limit.  The Roanoke Times reported Thursday that the department is now questioning whether the officer’s actions violated agency policy.  A newly proposed state Senate bill was filed in response to the traffic stop yesterday.  It would eliminate most immunities state lawmakers are allowed in the commonwealth.
