(Richmond)- Governor Northam wants to raise the gas tax. He proposed the four-cent increase this morning as part of his transportation bill saying it will help make roads safer. Northam is promising the money will improve transit, expand rail service, and fix up roads and bridges. His administration says the tax needs to be raised due to declining revenues.
