Committees Pass Proposals To Ease Abortion Rules In Virginia

(Richmond)-  Richmond state Senator Jennifer McClellan is sponsoring a bill that would ease restrictions on abortions in the commonwealth.  A Senate committee passed a proposal yesterday that removes ultrasound requirements and a 24-hour waiting period before an abortion is performed.  Bills in both the Senate and House of Delegates could be voted on within the next few days.  McClellan says it will unravel decades of anti-woman legislation.  The president of the pro-life group Family Foundation says Democrats were bought and paid for by the one-billion-dollar abortion industry.
