Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Warns About Fake Calls

(Stafford)- The Stafford County Sheriff’s office is warning people about the fake calls coming from their office.  Yesterday morning, a woman claims a person from the sheriff’s office called her and said there was an outstanding warrant for her arrest for missing jury duty and that she would have to pay a fine.  The woman then purchased 45-hundred-dollars’ worth of Green Dot MoneyPak gift cards and gave the information to the person on the phone.  After feeling scammed, she reported what happened in the incident.  Anyone with further information is urged to contact police.
