(Henrico)- An effort is underway to preserve land at the site of two Civil War battles in Henrico County. The Capital Region Land Conservancy is closing in on a 156-thousand-dollar deal to purchase nearly 40 acres where the battles of First Deep Bottom and Second Deep Bottom were fought. The American Battlefield Trust has already purchased more than 400 acres in the area. The Land Conservancy is planning to make sure the environment stays intact.
