(Fairfax)- The commonwealth’s attorney for Fairfax County says his office will no longer prosecute marijuana possession cases against adults. It happened multiple times in court yesterday. Steve Descano says each case will be reviewed to determine if it’s simple possession, and if so, then it’s moved to be dismissed. The new policy does not excuse possession with the intent to distribute or use of marijuana in public. Simple possession is referred to as personal use. Descano hopes the action will free up resources that can go towards serious crimes.
