(Richmond)- Virginia Commonwealth University is using technology to track student attendance. The university is starting a pilot program that records when a student signs on to a WiFi connection in the classroom. It’s being tested out in three classes this fall, which students can still opt out if they wish. The program will submit student ID numbers rather than their names.
