(Richmond)- Legionella bacteria found at the McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center isn’t expected to be a concern for patients and staff. A cooling system located away from the center’s clinical areas recently tested positive for Legionella during a quarterly evaluation. A Central Virginia VA Health Care System official saysthe positive test is a common occurrence in hospitals, but it doesn’t pose a risk for anyone at the facility. The bacteria has reportedly been cleared out.
