(Richmond)- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a study done by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determined Virginia is one of the top states for women’s health. The study focused on women’s mental health, preventive care, breast cancer prevention, and cervical cancer prevention. Virginia ranks sixth for having the most women in the United States meeting the American Cancer Society’s recommendations for mammograms at about 67-percent. Virginia also ranks eighth in terms of women meeting PAP test recommendations.
