(Richmond)- The deadline is quickly approaching for Virginia taxpayers who plan to file under the automatic, six-month individual income tax extension. Tax Commissioner Craig Burns says the deadline is Friday, November 1st. In 2018 nearly 373,000 Virginia taxpayers took advantage of the extension with many of those returns being filed electronically. Commissioner Burns says one of the benefits of electronic filing is that a person is likely to get a faster refund. The commissioner adds if you are getting a refund it will be directly deposited into your bank account.
