Tropical System Could Bring Some Rain To Virginia

(Sterling)- A tropical system tracking towards the southeast could help Virginia’s drought conditions. It may develop into a tropical storm by the time it hits the Florida coast and pushes through Georgia and the Carolinas over the weekend. The National Weather Service is calling for some bands from that system to affect the commonwealth, with a couple of inches of rain expected in the eastern half. The U.S. Drought Monitor released its latest report yesterday, which still shows most of Virginia in at least a moderate drought.
