UVA Medical Center Drops 14 Lawsuits

(Charlottesville)- The University of Virginia Medical Center is dropping 14 lawsuits against former patients with debts.  A school lawyer said in Albemarle County court yesterday that there’s not enough current evidence to carry on with the cases.  The announcement comes after it was reported the UVA Health System sued 36-thousand patients over a six-year span ending last summer.  Changes to the system’s collections policies could be revealed today.
