Corporate Defendants Deny Negligence In Officers’ Deaths

(Charlottesville)- Corporate defendants are denying negligence in the death of two Virginia State police officers.  They died in a helicopter crash while on the way to monitor the governor’s motorcade during the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville two years ago.  Their families filed wrongful death lawsuits against several companies in Albemarle County Circuit Court earlier this summer, claiming the helicopter wasn’t properly inspected and shouldn’t have been used.  The Daily Progress reports Bell Helicopter Textron and Rolls-Royce have since responded with statements that argue the negligent claims are insufficient.  They’ve requested trials by jury.
