(Norfolk)- A new study out of Old Dominion University shows that a major hurricane in southeast Virginia could be economically devastating. Research reveals wind and water damage alone in the Hampton Roads area would cost roughly 20-billion-dollars. The job losses and downturn in economic activity would come at a price of 23-billion-dollars. The numbers reflect landfall of a hurricane similar to Florence last year.
