Republicans Favor Holding Hearings On Fairfax At Special Session

(Richmond)- Republican state House leaders are looking to use the upcoming special session to hold hearings on allegations against Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax. Governor Northam is calling all state lawmakers back to the Capitol on July 9th to tackle gun control proposals. Fairfax was accused earlier this year of sexually assaulting two women. Delegate Rob Bell told Democrats this week that the session could serve as a good time to address the allegations. Fairfax’s office responded, and said the GOP is just hoping to avoid talking about gun violence.
