(Blacksburg)- Virginia Tech is looking to ease its over-enrollment strain by offering some incoming freshman a year off.  The university announced yesterday that over 15-hundred select students can apply to take a gap year in exchange for a one-thousand-dollar renewable scholarship.  They also have the option of attending a community college with a tuition reimbursement for one year or take classes this summer with one semester off in the fall or spring.  The offer only affects in-state students in select majors.
