(Springfield)- Senator Kaine is urging Virginia students to keep talking about safety in their schools. Gun violence was a big topic of conversation when the Democrat came out to speak to students at Key Middle School in Springfield yesterday. He says state leaders made safety and mental health reforms after a mass shooting at Virginia Tech in 2007, but more can be done. Kaine encouraged the middle schoolers to talk with local leaders, saying you don’t have to accept bad things.
