(DC)- A new campaign will launch tomorrow to pass a law that would make Washington, D.C. a state. The new coalition known as 51 for 51 focuses on the need for D.C. to have statehood and equal representation. The District currently has 700-thousand Americans who the coalition says don’t have a voice in Congress. The group is demanding that the Senate amend its rules so that 51 votes is enough to pass a DC statehood bill in the Senate.
