(Blacksburg)- It’s tick season already in Virginia. Virginia Tech professor Eric Day says ticks are arriving earlier than usual in the Commonwealth. He says the combination of a mild winter, and a growing deer population due to decreased hunting is great for the tick population. Ticks can spread a number of dangerous diseases, and health officials recommend preventative measures like long sleeve shirts and tick repellent.
