(Kitty Hawk, NC)- Investigators believe the driver of a truck fell asleep when he struck and killed a Virginia couple visiting the Outer Banks this week. Holly and Alan Nicolette died at a Norfolk hospital after being rushed from the scene on North Carolina Highway 12 in Kitty Hawk. Officers said the truck drove into a group of people who were walking on the side of the highway. Holly Nicolette was an elementary school teacher for the Hanover County school district.
