High Court Hears Arguments Over Virginia House Map Appeal

(DC)- The U.S. Supreme Court is considering whether or not the Virginia House can legally appeal a newly drawn district map.   A new map was created after a lower court ruled last year that lines for eleven districts are unconstitutional due to racial gerrymandering.  Attorneys for the GOP presented oral arguments in their appeal yesterday.  Justices may not make a decision on the map until at least May.
