(Culpeper)- A California company is eying land in Culpeper County for a large solar farm project. The Free Lance-Star is reporting that Cricket Solar is looking to build more than 270-thousand solar panels on 800 acres in the Raccoon Ford area near Rotue 522. The company says it will avoid the historic area of the Battle of Morton’s Ford in construction. The planning commission is considering a conditional use permit next week. Spotsylvania Supervisors are considering a solar farm in the western part of the county.
