(Richmond)- The House of Delegates passed a bill that will make Election Day a school holiday for Virginia’s public schools. It passed with a nearly unanimous vote yesterday. Most school systems in the Commonwealth already shut down schools on Election day, although a handful don’t have any rules in place. The bill applies only to the general election in November.
