(Richmond)- Virginia’s well-known slogan is turning 50 this year. The motto “Virginia is for Lovers” first hit the public’s eye in an issue of the Modern Bride magazine in 1969. It was developed by the advertising firm the Martin Agency. Different events throughout 2019 to celebrate the slogan are expected to be announced soon.Â
