(DC)- The Smithsonian is out of money and will be closing down starting today. The popular 17 museums and National Zoo in the Washington, DC area were able to remain open since the partial government shutdown began on December 22nd by using prior-year funds. However, that funding has run out and officials say they have no choice but to close their doors.
