Charlottesville PD Losing Officers

(Charlottesville)- Charlottesville’s police chief says the police department is going through a mass exodus of officers.  Chief RaShall Brackney told the Daily Progress that one to two officers are leaving every week, which has left the department nearly two dozen positions short.  Those leaving the department have cited salary and climate as major reasons.  Charlottesville officers currently get paid less than Charlottesville firefighters, Albemarle police and UVA police.
