(Richmond)- Officials in Virginia are looking at how to reduce the number of hate crimes in the commonwealth.  A Virginia State Police report recently showed that hate crimes are up 65-percent over the past five years.  Yesterday, Attorney General Mark Herring hosted a roundtable to discuss the issue with community activists and local officials.  Herring says he’s working on bills to update state hate crime laws and redefine what actually constitutes a hate crime in Virginia.
