(Orange County)- From The Orange County Sheriff’s Office:
On August 30, 2018, the Orange Sheriff’s Office was advised that an embezzlement from the Lake of the Woods Association had occurred. Officials from the association advised that approximately $94,000.00 had been taken from the Lake of the Woods Association funds by a former employee.

After extensive investigation, it appears that an amount in excess of $400,000.00 was embezzled from the Lake of the Woods Association over a period of four years. The Orange Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate and is still pursuing financial records connected to this case. No arrests have been made in connection with this case at this time, however, an arrest is anticipated at the conclusion of the investigation. Anyone with information in connection to this case is asked to call the Orange Sheriff’s Office at 540-672-1200 to speak to either Sheriff Amos or Major LaCasse.
