(Charlottesville)- The dress code in Charlottesville city schools no longer allows Confederate imagery. The school board voted last night to ban the Confederate symbols amid a discussion on the district’s inequalities. An article published last month through the nonprofit news source reported that Charlottesville has one of the country’s largest achievement gaps between white and black students. One teacher said the resolution to ban Confederate imagery was powerful.
