(Richmond)- A new poll shows Republican Congressman Dave Brat in a dead heat with Democratic challenger Abigail Spanberger in the race for Virginia’s 7th congressional district. The poll from the Wason Center for Public Policy shows the candidates in a statistical tie, with 46-percent of likely voters voting for Spanberger and 45-percent voting for Brat. Spanberger’s lead is wider among voters who said they were definitely going to vote and were enthusiastic about the election, with 48-percent to Brat’s 45-percent among committed voters.
