(Hanover)- A Mechanicsville woman is waiting to be sentenced for shooting another woman dead in Ashland. Yesterday, a Hanover County jury found 25-year-old Brittany Wiggins guilty of murder for the 2017 shooting of Ashley Fricke of Bowling Green in a Walmart parking lot. Prosecutors say Wiggins shot Fricke because she felt disrespected after an argument. Her defense said she only fired a warning shot and it was the ricochet that killed her. The jury recommends that Wiggins be sentenced to life in prison plus 13 years.
