(Richmond)- Virginia’s public safety secretary is calling off a policy banning prison visitors from wearing tampons. He says the policy needs a more thorough review. State correctional officials said it was meant to reduce the possibility of smuggling contraband. The ACLU was critical of the policy because it may discourage family and friends from visiting inmates.
