(Richmond)- VDOT says a record number of applications have been submitted by localities requesting help in transportation projects. The 468 applications submitted totaled around seven-billion-dollars in requests. Only 850-million-dollars is available to fund the requested projects. The Commonwealth Transportation Board will use a Smart Scale process that considers factors on each request in order to determine which projects receive funding.
