(North Carolina)- Drivers in Virginia planning on taking I-95 far south are asked to find another route, around the entire state of North Carolina. Roads and highways in North Carolina are underwater and will be for days. The North Carolina Department of Transportation says I-95 drivers can take a detour around the state starting west on I-64 in Virginia to I-81 South, to I-75 in Tennessee, to I-16 East in Georgia which leads back to I-95. North Carolina officials say they know it’s an extremely long detour but say it’s the safest option for now.
