(Richmond)- A group of Virginia National Guard soldiers is on standby for a possible response to southwest Virginia in case of flooding. A spokesman said attention is focused on supporting neighbors to the south. Around 40 soldiers and 20 vehicles were deployed to North Carolina for recovery efforts over the weekend. Governor Northam said state and federal assets have been repositioned to respond to any flooding in Virginia.
