Flesh-Eating Bacteria

safety-alert

(Richmond)-Health officials say a Virginia resident has died from flesh-eating bacteria. They aren’t sharing many details, but officials from the State Health Department said the person was infected with the Vibrio bacteria, which is rare and usually found in warm salt water. A person usually becomes infected when they’re in the water with an open wound. Officials said it’s the state’s first death this year from the bacteria and it happened somewhere in the state’s Eastern Region.
