(DC)-The National Zoo is considering some changes aimed at improving security and visitor safety. The zoo wants to add perimeter fencing and reduce the 13 pedestrian entrances to three. A fourth one would eventually be built at the soon-to-be-constructed parking garage. Future phases of the plan also include security checkpoints. The National Capital Planning Commission will review the proposed plan on July 12th.
