(Mount Vernon)- A gas compressor station is reason enough for Mount Vernon to land as one of the country’s most endangered historic places. The National Trust for Historic Preservation says the planned Dominion Energy project next to Piscataway National Park could block the view of Mount Vernon. A Dominion Power spokesperson says that the station won’t be visible from George Washington’s former home. There are no plans to move the station.
