Body Of Missing City Woman Found

(Fredericksburg)- Human remains discovered last weekend have been identified as missing Fredericksburg woman.

32-year old Rochelle Simms was reported missing last October 26th when she did not return home. She was last seen ordering food at Soup & Taco on Caroline Street at about 8 p.m. She had been at the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board’s Kenmore Club on Jackson St. earlier in the evening. The Kenmore Club serves adults with mental disabilities. Family members said Simms had Asperger’s syndrome, which is considered a high-functioning type of autism spectrum disorder.

Fredericksburg Police say a citizen reported finding what appeared to be human remains while relic hunting in a heavily wooded area. The remains were sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond.

City Police say the cause of death is unknown. The investigation is ongoing. The location where the remains were located is not being disclosed at this time as detectives are continuing to process and collect evidence.
