We are happy to report that Deputy McGhee has come through his surgery and the surgeon states that everything went well. Deputy McGhee will be hospitalized for approximately one week, then will begin his rehabilitation.
Deputy McGhee has family and coworkers present with him. Again, Sheriff Lippa asked that I pass along the thanks of not only Deputy McGhee, but the entire Caroline Sheriff’s family for all the kind words, thoughts, prayers, emails and text messages of support.
While it appears that Deputy McGhee will make a full recovery, this has been a very stressful event for all the deputies, EMS workers and troopers involved. Our thanks go out to all involved, not only at the scene, but also the hospital staff..
