(Fredericksburg)- Fredericksburg Police are investigating a purse snatching about 5:30 Sunday night at Walmart in Central Park.
Two women reported that an unknown person stole their wallets from their purses while they were shopping in the produce section. One of the victims was contacted by her bank and advised that someone had just attempted to make a purchase of several thousand dollars with her credit card at the Targetin Central Park. The transaction was declined.
The other victim’s credit card was successfully used to purchase more than $2,000-worth of gift cards at Target. Video surveillance shows the suspect is a black male with a slender build and was wearing a brown tweed jacket, grey v-neck sweater, black jeans, and dress shoes. He was also wearing a baseball cap with a logo on it at the time of the incident.
