(Stafford)- Deputies with the Stafford Sheriff’s Office have saved two people in recent weeks from an opiod overdose by using a prescription nasal spray called Narcan. The Stafford Sheriff’s Office tells us that nearly 100 of their deputies are now carrying Narcan. A final training session was held Friday afternoon.

Stafford Sheriff’s Office Operational Director Dr. Rob Fines says since officers are often first on the scene, he thinks it’s important for law enforcement to be trained with Narcan. He says emergency medical services have carried Narcan for decades, it became easier for law enforcement to apply when the nasal spray came on the market earlier this year
