FXBG Police Investigate Impersonating An Officer

city-pd-4

(Fredericksburg)- Fredericksburg Police are investigating a situation of a man impersonating a law enforcement officer. It occurred in the 26-hundred block of Princess Anne Street last Friday at 4pm.

A citizen reported that he was driving downtown when an unknown male driving behind him began flashing his high-beams. When the citizen pulled over to see what was wrong, the unknown male driving behind him got out of his vehicle and, acting as a police officer, verbally threatened him with three tickets. When the citizen questioned the unknown male and asked for his law enforcement credentials, the male became nervous, got back in his vehicle, and began to drive away. The unknown male then stopped his vehicle in the road and yelled at the citizen that he was going to take him to jail.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 50 to 55 years old with long gray slicked-back hair, unkempt facial hair, and glasses. He was wearing gaudy silver rings and had an arrowhead necklace around his neck and was driving a Toyota truck similar to a T-100. If you have any information about a person fitting the subject’s description, please contact the Fredericksburg Police Department at 540-373-3122.
