No Injuries In Saturday Spotsy Apt Fire

From Spotsylvania Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management:

Shortly after 11 pm Saturday night the occupants in the apartment of the 5700 block of Castlebridge Road discovered a fire in their kitchen. Within six minutes of the 9-1-1 dispatch from the Emergency Communications Center, units arrived on location to find smoke coming from the second floor balcony. Within 10 minutes the blaze was under control. Occupants of the building made it safely outside.

A total of 25 volunteer and career firefighters from the Spotsylvania County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management and mutual aid from the City of Fredericksburg were dispatched to the incident. There were four engines, one truck, two ambulances, a heavy rescue unit, two chief officers and a Fire Marshal on scene to battle the blaze. No occupants or firefighters were injured. The two occupants of the apartment on fire received assistance from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Spotsylvania County Fire Marshal’s Office.
