(Spotsylvania)- The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 37 year old man on charges of injuring his son. Thomas Jennings, Jr is charged with Malicious Wounding and felony Child Abuse of his 9 year old son.
The investigation began on May 17 when Jennings brought the unresponsive child into the emergency room at Mary Washington Hospital. Initial determinations by doctors, indicated that the victim was suffering from life threatening injuries and was in critical condition. There were also signs of other abuse on the child. He, (the victim), was flown to MCV hospital for advanced medical procedures. Detectives conducted interviews of medical personnel as well as Jennings and others, to determine a timeline of events that led to the injuries to the child. Later, that same day, Jennings was arrested on warrants obtained by Detectives, charging him with felony Malicious Wounding and felony Child Abuse. Jennings was taken before a Magistrate and was placed into the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
