(Warrenton)- Fauquier County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the source of loud explosions or booms heard last night and today.
The source has been identified as having come from individuals shooting tannerite targets on a large parcel of private property off of Meetze Road southeast of Warrenton. Tannerite is a brand of exploding rifle target, it’s compounds are also commonly used in commercial applications.
At this time it does not appear anyone in the immediate vicinity was or is in any danger. The matter is currently under investigation
