Rain May Sack Opening Race at Dominion Raceway

(Thornburg)- With an Arctic blast bringing rain and possible flurries to the region this Saturday, the Saturday Opener at Dominion Raceway Thornburg is in jeopardy. Officials will assess the situation today at 2pm and then make a final call tomorrow by 10am.

General Manager Edwin Pardue says, “We have fans coming from throughout the mid-Atlantic and the weather looks very poor for Saturday. We keep waiting for this forecast to improve and it keeps getting worse, obviously we would prefer decent weather conditions for our first NASCAR event, not to mention a general concern for our race teams who will probably lose the scheduled practice on April 8th as well.”
