(Woodbridge)- A Woodbridge woman has been charged with abduction and felony child neglect after police discovered she was allegedly chaining her disabled 17-year-old son to his bed at night. A third party notified Child Protective Services about the situation at the home of 40-year old Paulette Weston.

Police say the boy was secured to his bed some evenings and nights with a chain and rope. His bedroom windows were also boarded up and the door had a deadlock preventing the victim from leaving the room. The teen is disabled and uses a wheelchair, according to a criminal complaint.

Police say the alleged abuse went on for about a month. Weston is being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail. The teen is in the custody of family members.
