(Spotsylvania)- A Spotsylvania man has been arrested and charged with the robbery and shooting of a Fas Mart clerk 14 months ago. Spotsylvania Sheriff Roger Harris announced this morning that 33-year old Derek Sprouse was indicted by a special grand jury. He’s currently in North Carolina awaiting extradition. Sprouse is charged in North Carolina with a convience store robbery in Kings Mountain.
Sheriff Harris did not give details on evidence or what led to Sprouse being charged with the Brock Road Fas Mart shooting. The victim was shot in the head and face. Sheriff Harris said, “”Since this violent unprovoked act, the victim has had multiple surgeries to repair damage and still endures pain on a day to day basis.”
