Baseball in Spotsylvania. Supervisors will hold a special meeting next week to talk about a proposal to borrow 43 million dollars to build a minor league stadium next to CarMax in the Southpoint II shopping Center. The county’s Economic Development Authority would lease the stadium to the team. The plan will be discussed next Tuesday at 6 at the Holbert Building. Board chairman Chris Yakabouski says there will be a time for public comment. Supervisor David Ross voted against holding the meeting. Ross says the county needs more time to study the plan. A proposed lease says a deal must be signed by May 31st with ground broken for the stadium by July 1st.
